By Franklin Library
Sunday, Jan 20 2008, 07:09 PM

Staci Joers again will be offering a variety of cooking classes at the Franklin Public Library. Since January is National Soup month it seems right that our first class of the year is Homemade Soups.

January 31st: Homemade Soups

11:00am-2:00pm or 6:00pm-8:30pm

Limit 24 people

Soup can be a meal-in-a-bowl. Add some bread or crackers, something “fruit” and a hot beverage and you have a satisfying and hearty meal. We will cover the basics of soup making from preparation of stocks to soup ingredients and serving ideas. You will receive lots of recipes including the ones you’ll taste: Hearty Beef Barley, Wisconsin Beer and Cheese Soup with Soft Pretzels (for dunking!), “Quick” Chicken Corn Chowder, Spicy Lentil Soup with Sausage and Cream of Portobello Mushroom Soup.

To register please stop by or call the Franklin Public Library at 414-425-8214.  Cost is $20.00 per person and checks may be made payable to the Friends of Franklin Public Library.
