U.S. Border Agent Killer Suspect Released

By Janet Evans
Friday, Jun 27 2008, 05:40 AM

TUCSON, Arizona —  U.S. officials were shocked that a Mexican judge had freed a man imprisoned in connection with the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said.
Jesus Navarro Montes was arrested Jan. 22 in northern Mexico in the killing of Agent Luis Aguilar and had also been held over for trial there on migrant smuggling charges. The circumstances of his recent release from a Mexicali prison couldn’t be determined Wednesday.“We are working with a determined Mexican government, and our Department of Justice, to seek swift justice for the Aguilar murder,” Chertoff said in a statement Wednesday. “We have also assured Agent Aguilar’s family that every resource is being called upon in the relentless pursuit of justice.”The attorney general’s office in Baja California, Mexico, confirmed that Navarro had been released but couldn’t provide any details of his case. Officials answering phones at the 12th District Court in Mexicali said no one authorized to speak to the media was available.

Aguilar was run over and killed Jan. 19 as he tried to put down spike strips to stop a drug-filled vehicle and a pickup that were fleeing back to Mexico.

What has just recently happened in Northern Mexico is a prime example of how the Mexican Government fails to abide by the law on their side of the border.

Judges there free murderers of U.S. Border Patrol Agents.

There is no one protecting the United States Border Patrol Agents.

They are virtually on their own down there.

Where is the justice?

It's a Starting Point

By Janet Evans

"The illegal immigrants, most from Guatemala, filed into the courtrooms in groups of 10, their hands and feet shackled. "

That resulting from the raid at the Agriprocessors Inc. plant in Iowa.

What happened next?

297 of the illegal immigrants pleaded guilty after “admitting they had taken jobs using fraudulent Social Security cards or immigration documents.”

270 of them received prison sentences of five months, with immediate deportation after the sentence is completed.

Too harsh?

Do any of you feel that way?

I hope not.

Illegals

Some criminals spend more time than that  in jail waiting for a speedy trial.

The raid just happened on May 12th.

More importantly, let their families talk.

Let them know the United States is finally going to begin to take a stance.

But wait, there's so much more.

You see, this is so much larger than the illegals alone in cases like this.

What about the businesses hiring the illegals….

“In Postville, workers from the plant, still feeling aftershocks from the raid, said conditions there were often harsh. In interviews, they said they were often required to work overtime and night shifts, sometimes up to 14 hours a day, but were not consistently paid for the overtime. “

"We knew what time we would start work but we did not know what time we would finish," said Élida, 29, a Guatemalan who was arrested in the raid and then released to care for her two children. She asked that her last name not be published because she is in this country illegally.

“A 16-year-old Guatemalan girl, who asked to be identified only as G.O. because she is illegal and a minor and was not involved in the raid, said she had been working the night shift plucking chickens. "When you start, you can't stay awake," she said. "But after a while you get used to it."

16-year olds working the night shift plucking chickens?

Who else should be in prison here, and longer than 5 months!

The Hot Pet and What Kind of Country Are We Living In?

By Janet Evans
Wednesday, Mar 26 2008, 06:10 PM

After reading the story I am going to link you to, I know from past experience there will be differing views among my readers.

So be it.

I’m clear on my views.

This is a story about government surveillance.

It begins off the coast of Washington State, near the city of Bellingham, where federal agents are monitoring terrorist activity that could possibly come in off of ferry runs.

But this is off of an interstate highway, and they are monitoring the area for nuclear “dirty bombs.”

The article doesn’t say so, but for them to be monitoring specifically for this activity, you would think there has to have been some tip-off somewhere along the line….but back to the story.

They are monitoring activity using highly sensitive radiation detectors.

On this day, in the article, a car goes by at 70 miles per hour and the detector goes off with a warning.

They chase the driver, pull over the car, do questioning, do a search, and what do the find?

They find radiation, alright….but as my title suggests, it is a pet.

The owner's cat had cancer and had undergone radiation treatment several days earlier.

Now, I think….how cool is that...we could detect radiation from a cancer treatment?   In a cat?

Look what we can do!

The article states something to that degree, also.

I say, keep it up and do what you have to do to prevent terrorism in the U.S.

We have already caught two terrorists on our soil, before they did the damage they intended to do, which you will also read about.

The writer will end his article with a quote from a Washington, San Juan County Councilman, Kevin Ranker, who says “I think it’s fair to say many people up here have been left wondering just what kind of country it is they’ re living in.”

Well, Kevin Ranker…I think we are living in a wonderful country.

And I would like to keep it that way.

I know it would be an inconvenience to be stopped by an FBI agent because I had radiation in my car.

I’m sure most people would be scared and angry about it at first.

But later, I’m sure you would feel reassured that if that had been a “dirty bomb” heading to San Juan, you would be safe.

God Bless America.

Is This the Arkansas Way to Get Rid of Illegal Immigrants?

By Janet Evans
Thursday, Mar 13 2008, 06:40 AM

O.K.  I’m being sarcastic with my title.

But it might as well be that way in Arkansas.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A bailiff who forgot about a woman locked in a courthouse holding cell and left her there for four days without food, water or access to a bathroom has been suspended for 30 days but will keep his job, officials said Wednesday.

Washington County Cpl. Jarrod Hankins acted without "intentional misconduct" when he left Adriana Torres-Flores in the 9 1/2-by-10 1/2-foot cell, Sheriff Tim Helder said.Hankins "became busy and simply forgot" about the woman last Thursday, leaving her in the cell with only a jacket until Monday morning.

"I realize some people may have expected Hankins to be terminated. However, my philosophy is if an employee makes a mistake while trying their best to perform their duties, I will try to salvage them," Helder said in a statement.

What?

"If an employee makes a mistake while trying their best?”

He became “busy and simply forgot” that there was a human being alone, in a cell, with no food or water for FOUR DAYS?

She could have died.

Anything can happen to someone when they are alone like that.

Yeah, scare the illegal immigrants so badly that they will tell each other “Hey, we better leave Arkansas, because if you get caught you get locked up and they throw away the key."

30 days suspended without pay?

I say lock him up with no food, water, or bathroom facilities….for one day longer…5 days.

Then he can see how it feels when people make simple mistakes.

If instead of the criminal it had been a police dog accidentally locked up…this bailiff probably would have been fired.

America's Toughest Sheriff vs. Illegal Immigration

By Janet Evans

Tent City in Phoenix, AZ

If you are in Phoenix, Arizona...don't break the law.

And if you are an illegal immigrant, maybe you just better avoid Arizona altogether.

You may be be familiar with Sheriff Joe Arpaio, known as "America's toughest Sheriff."

And that he is.

He's the one who runs that tent city jail.

He makes all of the male inmates wear pink underclothes and eat food that's not quite fresh.

They sleep outside, in tents, all year round, no matter what the weather.

Arpaio is tough on illegal immigrants too.

"Arpaio finds creative ways to arrest illegal immigrants — using state law intended on human smuggling to charge them with smuggling themselves — something no one else in the state has attempted."

And once arrested, they learn English.

Sheriff Arpaio is in trouble with the public quite often because of his methods.

But it's thought he will be re-elected again, for the fifth time, in November.

Illegal Immigrants....Just good Neighbors?

By Janet Evans
Wednesday, Dec 19 2007, 11:20 AM

According to Eric Haas, of the Rockridge Institute, "On the issue of immigration, politicians and much of the mainstream media are playing with our minds. By repeating the phrase "illegal immigrants," they're creating a misleading stereotype. It's inaccurate. And, it's distracting us from the real issue -- economic exploitation of all low-wage workers in the United States."

He further goes on to say, "Branding people with the Scarlet "I" creates a fearful stigma. The vast majority of immigrants, whatever their legal status, are law-abiding members of society. Yet, the "illegal" description is so pervasive that it has us thinking about punishment and revenge, instead of solutions to the real problem -- the economic exploitation of people, both immigrant and native-born."

And then, "And the American Immigration Law Foundation tells us the likely reason why:

The problem of crime in the United States is not 'caused' or even aggravated by immigrants, regardless of their legal status. This is hardly surprising since immigrants come to the United States to pursue economic and educational opportunities not available in their home countries and to build better lives for themselves and their families. As a result, they have little to gain and much to lose by breaking the law. Undocumented immigrants in particular have even more reason to not run afoul of the law given the risk of deportation that their lack of legal status entails.

"Sounds more like a good neighbor than a criminal."

Then Mr. Haas goes on to give one example of a good illegal immigrant, Jesus Manuel Cordova Soberanes, who rescued a 9-year old boy from a car wreck on Thanksgiving.

See his full article, from Rights & Liberties, Losing Our Minds Over Immigration  ç here.
_____________

Oh, please, Mr. Haas!

Not so fast....

"Sounds more like a good neighbor than a criminal."

Let's talk about some criminal activity of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

And yes, that's what they are.

I will say it.

There are thousands of innocent Americans who have been raped, murdered, kidnapped, mobbed or otherwise criminally harmed by foreigners who have no right to be in our country.  The high incarceration rate of illegals shows that many do not come here to work, they come here to commit crimes.

An article from 2006 in  World Net Daily    ç states that:

“While the military "quagmire" in Iraq was said to tip the scales of power in the U.S. midterm elections, most Americans have no idea more of their fellow citizens – men, women and children – were murdered this year by illegal aliens than the combined death toll of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan since those military campaigns began."

"Illegal immigrants murder 12 Americans Daily."

In Search of a Better Life...

"While legal immigrants and illegal aliens come to America for an improved standard of living, those millions of foreigners are decidedly harming the quality of life for many in this nation — from those who have been displaced in their jobs by cheap immigrant workers to taxpayers paying for endless infrastructure and services, students getting a worse education in radically “diverse” classrooms and crime victims who have suffered at the hands of criminal aliens in this country. "

"The Immigrations Human Cost website is dedicated to telling the stories of forgotten citizens who still hope that their American dream will not be extinguished. We continue to hope for a better America for the next generation, too, although that tradition is just as endangered by irresponsible mass immigration as our natural resources and the individual freedoms that have been our birthright up to now."

Please view this website.  Some of the murders committed by illegal immigrants are so shocking, it is unbelievable!  Just good neighbors ....
