Part Two of the Common Council Meeting will not be an analogy on my part, and I assume all readers were able to interpret my analogy of yesterday with Item G1 since no one commented regarding it.  So, good for you!!  We are all on the same page. 

The podcasts I have for you today, from the brief meeting are Agenda Items:

G3.  Resolution supporting continued cooperation with City of Oak Creek on development of the South 27^th Street Corridor and supporting development of an overall cost sharing agreement for projects impacting the entire corridor, including the Drexel Avenue Interchange.

and in the same podcast Item G4. a reading by the City Clerk of a letter regarding the Donation to the Franklin Fire Department from Mrs. Darcy McKendry in the amount of $500 for the Fire Education Fund.

Lastly, is a two-part podcast of Item G5. Request by St. James Congregation for a certified survey map for their property located at 7219 S. 27^th Street to be provided by the City of Franklin.

American citizens are no doubt having mixed feelings about the $700 billion Wall Street investment bailout.  It’s difficult to support something that is not easy to put into perspective on many levels. Maybe this will help with one level of confusion.

At last night's Common Council Meeting, Mayor Taylor addressed Item F1 on the Agenda, discussing Alderman Sohn's letter to Mayor Taylor regarding the ordinance violations against the Fox's.

If there's one thing that's never lacking on this Common Council, it's the small outbursts of disrespect for each other between those members from the past Council.  Usually the Mayor will attempt to control this.  But tonight was his turn to turn the knife.

I'll begin with Mayor Taylor and follow up at another time with more audio clips...

On another note, during citizen comment period, the Foxes made an emotional plea asking for understanding.  They say they are confused regarding this entire ordeal.  I have to say, by speaking, they added another side to this, making this a triangle.  This has been going on for over 30 years....

Remember when Olympic athletes were required to be amateurs?  I liked it better then…especially when it came to team sports.  The Olympics gave you a chance to see athletes you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to see.  But everything has its time and place.  And since most athletes in the Olympics participated in sports as part of their normal life, rules changed.

Now, everything has its time and place.  And that goes for Instant Replay in sports.  The Little League World Series has announced it is going to use Instant Replay on a limited basis in its series.  You’ve got to be kidding me.  This is Little League!  Is there Instant Replay in Major League baseball?  Not yet, anyway.  So, what’s going on here?

I attended the Common Council meeting yesterday, Tuesday, July 22^nd.

Several interesting items were on the agenda.  I’m going to present those items through short podcasts, in no particular order, and as I have time to go through the tape.

I’ll be starting tonight with Item G5, which was:

Resolution accepting Declaration of Restrictions, Covenants and Easements for Sendik’s West, 5320-5430 W. Rawson Avenue.

This discussion began with Alderman Wilhelm bringing to the attention of the Council and the Mayor that the Development Agreement was a mess.  She had meticulously gone through it and, in the end, this item is being sent back to City Staff to be corrected

The first podcast is Alderman Wilhelm discussing her findings.

The second podcast is an email from Greg Devorkin to Mayor Taylor, explaining what he is responsible for regarding landscaping and maintenance, etc.

One last note, at the last few meetings it has been noticed that the equipment in the Common Council meeting room is on the fritz.  Two meetings in a row the camera that allows you to view documents on television screens wasn’t working, but that has been repaired.  And now the last two meetings, the microphones haven’t been working properly. 

It would be nice to have all Common Council meetings done as a webcast.  New Berlin does it with their School Board meetings.  This is something I suggested tonight at our Franklin School Board meeting.  Wishful thinking, I know….but it wasn’t that long ago that I remember viewing our School Board meetings on Public Access T.V.  We’ve gone backwards.
