Pete Kosovich belongs on the Franklin Plan Commission

The Franklin Common Council tonight will consider Mayor Taylor’s appointment of former Alderman Pete Kosovich to the Plan Commission.

Kosovich is an excellent choice and should be approved by the Council.

Kosovich is a small businessman with knowledge of local ordinances, state rules and regulations, and has had experience in dealing with Franklin business and economic development issues. He would be a perfect fit for the Plan Commission.

To suggest that Kosovich is just a TV repairman is insulting and out of line. Kosovich is a small businessman who dedicated himself to public service and wants to do it again.

Was he thrown out of office? Sure, if you consider losing by such a narrow margin that a recount was necessary being “thrown out of office.”

Political boards and commissions all across the state are filled with appointees of people who once held public office who bring a wealth of institutional knowledge to the table.

I am confident Kosovich will be a great addition to the Plan Commission. He needs to be approved at tonight’s meeting.

Cindy Kilkenny, in answer to your question that I am not posting because I have told you politely about a dozen times but you just don't comprehend that your hateful, spiteful, harassing comments are no longer allowed:

No. Are you?

Cindy, you really need to read over your harassing, hateful e-mail/comment nice and slow........nice and slow......nice and slow.....before you send it to make sure it's at least accurate.

That'll save a whole lot of shoe-throwing, egg on face, etc.

If the Mayor wants to appoint Kosovich to the Plan Commission it's his prerogative, but how ever you slice it, Kosovich was voted out of office.  It's certainly something the mayor should consider.

Appointment of friends, colleagues, etc has been going on in politics for all time. This is nothing new.

Jim Doyle has appointed tons of people that have been confirmed by the state Senate when it was controlled by Republicans and now Democrats.

Taylor appointed Kosovich because he knows him, likes him, respects him, is familiar with him and thinks he will do a good job.

Franklin voters, when they overwhelmingly returned Taylor to the Mayor's job also did so knowing he'd have this authority.

For Greg Kowalski to act as though this is scandalous and outrageous speaks once again to his total lack of knowledge of how the process works.

It's no surprise he gets backing from a phony conservative blogger in Brookfield who knows absolutely nothing about Franklin politics.

And the by the way, this needs to be said. How ungrateful and disrespectful is Greg Kowalski to Mayor Taylor, the man that appointed him to a commission. Greg continually trashes this fine man publicly. And when the makeup of the commission didn't suit his liking, he up and quit.

Earth to Greg: Life is like that. It can't be one nice party all the time with people who think just like you. You may actually work with folks you don't like or who don't like you

The sooner you realize that, the better you'll be.
