This Just In...

So now Mike McCarthy is a psychiatrist

The Packer head coach says after meeting and talking with Brett Favre, the QB doesn't have the right mindset to play for Green Bay.

Look, the organization simply doesn't want him back. It doesn't matter what Favre would have said. Ted Thompson and McCarthy want him gone and will find any reason to make sure that happens.

During his press conference late this afternoon, McCarthy said that he was done doing PR. That's probably a good thing for the coach because if he was doing PR the past few weeks, he failed miserably.

You want Aaron Rodgers, Mike? You got him. Let's see you go 13-3 this season.

I am currently in the mindset that I will not watch Packer football moving forward for sometime until Ted Thompson is run out of town.  I hope Rodgers gets embarrassed against the upcoming game against the Bengals.  Let's see the QB made of glass even last through the 08' season.

If Favre winds up in Tampa Bay, I will root like crazy for the Buccaneers when they play the Pack in Florida.

And when, pray tell, is that game?

It just happens to be scheduled in week #...............4.

This group continues its lobbying effort for Favre:

Oh for crying out loud.

Favre comes to camp, tells McCarthy that he FEEEEEELLLLLLS bad about the way he's been treated, and doesn't like Mikie and Teddy any more.

Does McCarthy have to draw up new game-plans and schemes every time Brettsy-Poo changes his mind?  There is not enough paper in the whole Fox River Valley for that exercise.

There's a reputable pro-football mag that says Rogers will do fine:  15+TD's and a few picks.

By the way, note that the younger Pack team members are hoping Favre will sort of go away.  Anyplace.

I don't blame them.

Brett's a mensch.  He is an excellent player, and a competitor extraordinaire.  But he's also a brat.

That's the kind of thinking that had Packer fans happy just to be 8-8 for decades.

Does it make me a bad person to seriously wish and hope for Aaron Rodger to suck this year?  I'm talking pitiful performance, that is if he makes past the first game.

sigh...

Karen, it makes you a logical fan because you want your favorite team to put the BEST team on the field.

You don't have to seriously wish that Rodgers will go in the tank. It's bound to happen, and then the Thompson-McCarthy brain trust will be forced to choose between two rookies.

Seahawks fans are probably watching, ecstatic Ted Thompson is no longer their albatross.

After the events of the day, and as much as it pains me to say this, I say, Brett, screw em'  let them have their golden boy Rodgers, and go play for someone that wants you and values you.

The Packers deserve the crap season they will get.

Thompson, will forever be remembered as the most idiotic GM in Packer history, maybe even the NFL, and the guy that ran the 3 time MVP, Super Bowl Championship Quarterback, future Hall of Famer, legendary Brett Favre, who by the way has shattered all records,  out of Title-town.

Idiots.

P.S. Thank God for NASCAR this fall ;)

Ironic, Kevin, that you disparage McCarthy's psychiatric abilities, yet YOU engage in fortune-telling the Pack's 2008 season record.

I don't think I offered a prognostication on the Packer record this season, but I'm sure of one thing.

It won't 13-3 or anything better.
