A blind masseur jumped from a railroad bridge in Seoul, South Korea, during a rally denouncing a move to declare unconstitutional a law that allows only the legally blind to become professional masseurs. For most of the past century, the job of masseur has been reserved exclusively for the legally blind in South Korea. Sighted people who are masseurs, but unlicensed, contend that the law violates their right to employment. Passions are intense on both sides of the debate over whether to preserve the restriction.
