The key issue for John McCain in tonight's debate

Taxes.
As usual, the key issue in the campaign pertains to pocketbooks. McCain must paint Barack Obama as the outrageous tax and spend liberal that he is. When Obama counters that under his plan, 95% of Americans will get a tax break, McCain must fire back that most of those people don’t pay taxes, so Obama is, in effect, promising welfare checks.
And how to pay for it? America has already committed $700 billion to that questionable and extremely unpopular buyout. Where’s Obama going to get the money for his giveaway? He won’t say, making him vulnerable.
Taxes, taxes, taxes. It’s McCain’s best chance to score well with the American public tonight.
