State Senator Alberta Darling is up running TV ads asserting (accurately) that her opponent, state Representative Sheldon Wasserman, a tax and spend liberal would be disastrous for Wisconsin’s economy in the Senate.
That’s a great move in what is the most important state Senate race this year and the most expensive state Senate race ever in Wisconsin.
Free advice to my very good friend and a great state Senator, Alberta Darling: Go after Wasserman on photo ID. He’s totally vulnerable on that issue where the overwhelming majority of Wisconsinites support a photo ID requirement to vote. Wasserman does not.
Let’s review. Three times the legislature, backed by a sizeable majority of the people of Wisconsin, has approved photo ID legislation. Three times, Governor Doyle has vetoed the legislation.
How did Sheldon Wasserman vote on these bills?
He voted NO on Photo ID bill # 1, State Assembly vote 3/13/03.
He voted NO on Photo ID bill # 2, State Assembly vote 2/24/05.
He voted NO on Photo ID bill # 3, State Assembly vote 6/23/05.
On the first consideration of a constitutional amendment on photo ID, he voted NO on 11/1/05.
On the second consideration of a constitutional amendment on photo ID, he voted NO on 4/17/07.
Sheldon Wasserman voted....
FIVE TIMES AGAINST PHOTO ID.
The state Senate then refused to take a vote on second consideration of a constitutional photo ID requirement, killing the measure.
One of the reasons this election will be the most fraudulent we’ve ever seen is that liberal Democrats, including Sheldon Wasserman, refused to allow photo ID to become law in Wisconsin.
Go get 'em, Alberta!
