Free candy for all if Obama wins

By Kevin Fischer

One of my favorite columnists, Doug Giles strikes again. If Obama is elected, it’s free candy for all:

“I guarantee the hard-working 'Joes’ out there who have worked their plumber butts off 10-12 hours a day for the last decade aren’t too jazzed at the prospects of Obama Robin Hooding their hard-earned cash on behalf of a crack whore, a criminal alien or a costume jewelry wearing welfare brat who’s also sporting a teeth grill and donning $100 Nikes. Spread the wealth . . . please.”

Here is Giles’ entire column.

I always like to point out to people who use the Robin Hood analogy that he and his merry men were fighting the Sheriff of Nottingham who was usurping the wealth of the people through taxation and redistributing it to the undeserving.

Robin Hood was the antithesis of Barack Obama.  The only thing they have in common is that nearly everything you read about them is fictional.

Well that, and they were apparently born on the same side of the Atlantic Ocean...

RickKG, your last two comments have not been posted because they are very rude and nasty and off topic.

Here's how my blog works, RickKG. Comments left are not immediately posted. Unfortunately, because of extremely nasty and hateful remarks in the past, I, like other bloggers, monitor comments before I post them. After you post a comment, you will see the following from the editor of this website:

"Thanks for sharing your feedback! If your feedback doesn't appear right away, please be patient as it may take a few minutes to publish - or longer if the blogger is moderating comments."

I can't always check my blog so sometimes the comments are delayed a bit.  If comments are on topic and not dirty or nasty, they'll get posted, whether I agree with them or not.

Hard working Joe's make under $250,000/year.  Their taxes don't increase under Obama's plan.  I'm not supporting his tax policy by any means, but the fact is that hard working Joes' don't get a tax increase under Obama's plan.  Giles' whole premise is that "Joe" will be taxed more under an Obama administration.  That premise is false.  It's possible that Obama is "redistributing wealth" with his proposed tax policy but not "Joe's" wealth via a direct tax increase.  Likewise, it's possible that total U.S. tax revenues will go down if Obama's tax policy is implemented, but "Joe's" taxes will not go up, if the current Obama plan is adopted.  Also, it's possible that jobs will be lost due to cutbacks resulting from Obama's tax increase on employers making above $250,000/year.  Again, this does not raise "Joe's" taxes directly.

Giles' premise is untrue.  He should stick to the facts regarding the Obama tax policy instead of spewing falsehoods and partisan fabrications constructed to play off the emotions of the right wing base that reads his blog and gets their information from AM radio.

Insert partisan generalities and bickering below:

Please read the following from the Wall Street Journal.

Anyone who thinks his taxes won't go up under Obama is naive, a liberal, or both.

Since Obama is so hell bent on "spreading the wealth around" why doesn't he take some of his $867 gazillion in campaign money and share it with John McCain and level the playing field?

Wouldn't that be "patriotic" of him?

Though I oppose campaign finance reform, I have to laugh at the hypocrisy of the left on this issue. Not a peep out of them on the obscene amounts of money Obama is raising and using to buy the election.

I thought the liberals and every editorial writer in America wanted to get gobs of money out of politics...
