C'mon, guys, be honest.
Suppose you saw this woman, stranded on the side of the road.

Wouldn't you pull over and stop to lend a helping hand?
That's Briana Lipor for heaven's sake.
Who's Briana Lipor?
Briana Lipor just happens to be Miss Wisconsin.
While back home in Racine, her car was hit by a truck or SUV. The driver fled the scene. Other motorists shouted out to Lipor, asking if she was ok. Passers-by did call for assistance, and while Lipor was only slightly injured, she now owes a hefty deductible.
Beauty queens always have a pet project or cause they devote themselves to and Lipor's recent accident has inspired her to dedicate some time to an issue rarely, if ever addressed by pageant winners: mandatory auto insurance.
Good luck, Briana. I certainly can understand her frustration as can anyone who's been clobbered by an uninsured motorist. But the idea of a mandate has gone nowhere in Wisconsin.
The closest a mandatory insurance bill ever came to becoming law was back in the 80's. One of the key votes that killed the bill in the lower house of the Legislature came from the Republican Minority Leader of the state Assembly, an unknown lawmaker at the time who hailed from the tiny town of Elroy.
