Steve Olson tells it like it is

Last week I blogged that Franklin Alderman Steve Olson is sought after for his advice by other municipalities considering adopting Franklin-like sex offender ordinances. Olson’s latest discussions have been with Muskego.

I like what Olson is doing and how he’s doing it. His blunt talk about people on the sex offender registry is right on the money.

Straight Talk is always refreshing.

I'd like to see the law go further. As I understand it, currently offenders that were found guilty while under the age of 18 of first degree sexual assault of a child are not listed on the registry with the explanation being that they are being supervised by their parents.  My arguement would be that when they turn 18 and are no longer under parental supervision and they should be put on the registry.

Again, I am talking about the worst of the worst, those who are guilty of 1st degree sexual assault of a child.
